# Stefi's Two Step Algebratic Equation Solving!

Hello guys, my name is Stefi and today I will be showing you how to do two-step equation solving.

Here is an example question:

**4y-9=15**

**4 is the coefficient**

**y is the variable**

**9 is the constant**

**15 is the answer**

The first thing you have to do is isolate the

**constant,**by doing that you have to do the opposite signs. So if it is -9 you have to do +9 and vise-versa. You have to do it to both sides of the equal sign to keep the equation**balanced.****4y-9+9=15+9**

Since you isolated the

**constant**you now have to solve the equation, so negative 9 plus 9 is zero. So you are now left with 4y on the left hand side. Now you solve the right hand side, so 15+9 is 24. Now write it all down.**4y-9+9=15+9**

**4y=24**

Now to isolate the

**variable**you have to divide both sides by the**coefficient,**in this case it is 4. So divide both sides by 4.

__4y=24__**4 4**

So now you are left with just the

**variable**and the**answer.****y=6**
