2 Step Algebra Equations

3 x +6 = 15                 let x =3
3 x +6-6=15-6            3 x+6=15
3 x  =  9                      3(3) +6 = 15
 3        3                      9+6 = 15
   x =3                          15 = 15

  • You have to isolate the variable.
  • first you have to get rid of  the constant so you use the opposite operation so you can cancel it out.
  • than you have to get rid of the coefficient to do that you have to use the opposite operation.
  • than you have to verify to check.

  3. Good Job on your Scribe Post Alyssa. You did everything correctly, but you need more colour to make the post stand out. Also the post is a bit late, but better late than never.
