Mickayla's Two Step Algebra Post (pg.44)

Ayyee. It's Mickayla here,  and ill be walking you through 3 equations we did on pg.44 :)
but being honest here you should have these questions "in the bag" but.
(if you're actually here for help on two step equations, hope this kinda helps.)
                    #5)   -7y + 2 = -75      - first make sure you have it in order                                                                                                  (coefficient/variable, constant and answer)
           -7y + 2 - 2 = -75 -2    - second, isolate the variable
                                                          (make sure you do it on both sides so its balanced)
                     -7y = -77         - afterwards you are left with the coefficient,                                                                                         variable and "answer"
                     -7y = -77        - next you would have to get rid of the                                                      -7      -7                   coefficient (by dividing on both sides)

                                  y  = +11        - and you're answer should be +11 :)
_____________________________________________________________________

                 #6)   v  - 10 = -14        - this question would also follow the first                                                                           questions steps
                         3
       v  - 10 + 10 = -14 + 10  - isolate the variable on each side.
       3
                     v  = -4             - now you would have to get rid of the
                     3                       coefficient.

               (3) v  = (3) -4     - instead of dividing like the last questions,
                3                       you would have to multiply on both sides.
                              v   =   -12                 - and the answer is should be -12 :D
_____________________________________________________________________
      #11)    45 = 6d - 45      - as you can see this question is not in "order"
               45 = 6d - 45     -that means you would have to rearrange them.                                                                                       (just to make it easier for yourself)
               6d - 45 = 45      -if you have rearranged them correctly, you would                                                                                 have a question like this.
     6d - 45 + 45 = 45 + 45   - and now like the other two questions,                                                                                                  isolate the variable.
                            6d = 90       - and if you added correct likely (which i hope                                                                                you did) you'd end up with 6d = 90
                   6d  =  90        - now just like the first question, you have to get
                    6        6          rid of the coefficient by dividing on both sides.

                               d = 15          - and your answer should be +15 :P

and with two step problems you can do some "right side" problem solving. some might think its difficult, and others might think its a walk in the park, feel free to do which ever way works for you. :)

and if you still have a hard time doing two step algebra equations, feel free to watch this video about two step algebra equations :)))

P.S make sure you verify as well! and happy halloween !!1!

  4. Really well done Mickayla, very good use of color and helps me understand step by step. You made the pictures big which is good.

  5. Well done Scribe Post Mickayla, you did a very good job on using your colours well to promote the importance of the steps and how to do it. Also you made the pictures big which is good, but the words that go with the picture aren't very big, so it is hard to read
