This is Vincent and this is my first Scribe Post. I am going to teach you how to Transpose. On page 42, “Why Do Girls Like Guys Who Wear Shirts With Eight Buttons”.

Question 1

E45n-7=10n+2

TheFirstthing you have to do is multiply45nand4(-7) before you actually transpose. So 4(5n) is 20nand 4(-7) is -28.

20n-28=10n+2

This will be your new question. Now you will transpose. Lala. Letters Left. NR. Numbers Right. To transpose you will have to make Zero Pairs.To put letters(variables) on the leftyou will have to make a zero pair out of the variable that’s on the right side of the equals sign. So vice versa. To put numbers on the right you make a zero pair with the numbers(integers) on the left side of the equals sign.

20n-28=10n+2

-10n+28 = -10n+28

10n= 30

This will be the result of you transposing. You make a zero pair with -10n because 10n is on the right side and you need to put it on the left side. Positive 10n and negative 10n make a zero pair. -28 is on the left side and you need it on the right side. Negative 28 and positive 28 make a zero pair. Whatever you do to one side you do to the other.You add +28 to one side you add +28 to the other. Do the same with -10n.

10n/10=30/10

n=3

Nowjust solve the equation as you would normally

Time to verify. But you have to verify with the original question, not the simplified one. All you have to do is change all the variables with what “n” = to. So in this case “n” is 3. So change all of the n’s to 3

4(5n-7)=10n+2

4[5(3)-7]=10(3)+2

Use the square brackets as the outer brackets because you have the round brackets inside the square ones.

4[15-7]=30+2

4[8]=32

32 =32

N Now another question with less words.

9x+3=4x-3

Multiply.

9x+27=4x-3

Transpose. Make zero pairs.

9x+27=4x-3

-4x -27=-4x-27

The result is

5x=-30

Solve as normal

5x/5=-30/5

x = -6

Now verify. Change all x’s to -6

Note: Use the original question

9x+3=4x-3

9(-6+3)=4(-6)-3

9(-3) =-24-3

-27=-27

#9) The length of a rectangle is 50 meters. This is 6 meters more than twice the width. Find the width.

Let w = the width. twice width (+)6m = Length 50m = length 2w+6m = 50m-6m 2w +6m = 50m 6m more (+6) 2 =44m 2(22m)+6m= 50m Twice the width (2w) 2 44m +6m= 50 = 22m

Hey guys my name is Nicholas and im going to show you how to do Two step Algebra Equations. So today I am doing um 3 examples, these questions are from "Why did Gonzo walk around carrying ice cream and a pair of sparrows?"

So what you want to do here is to rewrite the question first. second you need to reverse the operations. Then you minus or add on both sides. So to undo the division we need to multiply on both sides as well. Now here is the questions. And also don't forget to do your let statements.

a\2+8=50 Verify

a\2+8-8=50-8 a\2 + 8 = 50 50 = 50

(2)a/2=42(2) 21\2 + 8 = 50

a=21 42 + 8 = 50

x\7 -8= -10 x\7 -8 = -10 -10 = -10

x\7-8+8 = -10 + 8 -14\7 -8 = -10

(7)x\7 = -2 (7) -2 - 8 = -10

x = -14

-x\10 -11 = 10 - x\10 -11 =10 10 = 10

-x\10 -11 + 11 = 10 + 11 -2 10/ 10 - 11 =110

-(10)x\10 = 21(10) 21 - 11 = 10

x=210

So as you can see that I reversed the operations and minus or add both sides so I hope that this can help you a lot im sorry if this didn't help you because honestly I find it hard to explain this. I suck :(.

hi okay how do you even introduce yourself??? but anyways i totally love math and i LOVE algebra !1!!!21 and today or tonight i'm going to walk you through two step algebra questions.

THESE QUESTIONS ARE FROM PAGE 45: WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD

E. 5 +4n = 29

When the problem you're solving starts off with the constant rather than the co-efficient & its variable. It's like what Mr.Harbeck always refers to when he says you eat the dessert before the brussel sprouts. But i mean if that's your thing then you do you, however it's much easier and fitting when the co-efficient as well as the variable comes first.

So in this case, the constant comes before the co-efficient but this can easily be flipped and will not cause any problems.

5 + 4n = 29

4n + 5 = 29

Next, you need to isolate the co-efficient and the variable so in this case you have to subtract 5 in order to isolate it since you're cancelling out the positive 5.

4n + 5-5 = 29 - 5

4n = 24

- -

4 4

n = 6

Remember to always balance out your equation so if you've subtracted 5 from one side you have to subtract 5 on the opposing side.Continue on with the the problem and do the math, 29 - 5 equals 24 and you're left with 4n = 24. This then leads you to the division part; 4n divided by 4 = n and 24 divided by 4 = 6. And don't forget your 'let' statement !!

let n = 64n + 5 = 24

4 (6) = 24

24 = 24

The same steps/rules also kind of applies to this type of equation, you just have to multiply rather than dividing.

This is the same steps as the one above but the next step consists of multiplying.

You multiply -16 and -2 because you take the -16 from the left side and the outcome of 99 subtracted is 101 is -2.

a = 32

C. Oshgosh would like to buy a new pair of skates for $115. So far he has saved $40. If he earns $7.50 per hour, how many hours must he work until he can buy the skates?

the world problem is a combination of all the steps we've done above.
