Reina's Dividing Negative Integers Post
Hello! I'm Reina and today I am here to inform you about dividing negative integers, I'll show you how to solve different types of negative integer questions, but one thing all of us must know, the Sign Law.
positive divided by positive = positive
negative divided by positive= negative
negative divided by negative= positive
And now to talk about the different kinds of questions you'll encounter:
There are 3 types of negative integer division.
This is the first one-
-x = -3 Just to make things easier, which will all be the same thing in the end
4 we will move the negative sign to the denominator.
x = -3 And now we can isolate the variable. which means we have to do the opposite
-4 operation, which is to multiply.
(-4)x = -3(-4) Now that we have isolated the variable on the left side, now we can multiply
-4 on the right side
x = -12 And now you've solved the first question!
Here is the second one-
_ x = 3 Again, just to make things easier, move the negative sign to the denominator.
4
x =-3 After moving the negative sign, isolate the variable.
-4
(-4)x = -3(-4) Isolate the variable.
-4
x = 12 Now you have solved the second question!
Here is the last question-
x = -3 Well now the question basically did half the work for us because we don't even
-4 need to move the negative sign.
(-4)x = -3(-4) Isolate the variable.
-4
x = 12 And wow you've magically solved the same question
three times in a row!!
But there comes a time where you need to prove that your answer is right and the person next you is wrong so we need to "Verify by Visa". And since we all ended up with the same question I will just do this once from when we moved the negative sign to the denominator.
let "x" = 12
x = -3
-4
12 = -3
-4
-3 = -3
Here is a video I found on how to divide negative AND positive integers.

And that is how you divide integers! Hope you actually learned something from this, BYE!!
